Christopher's First Tournament

Christopher has been asking me for a while to play in a tennis tournament. He is still a beginner so I was nervous to let him try. This last weekend we let him play in a local tournament. It went a lot better than I expected. It was really fun to watch him play. He had a great attitude and had fun (which was exactly what I wanted). The only problem was that Emily got the flu and was not very pleased that I would leave her home with dad to take and watch Christopher. It was a great mom moment to watch my son play after years of watching and coaching other peoples kids.

Tennis Camp

The kids have been going to tennis camp all summer. They have had a really great time and get some good exercise. I feel like it keeps them busy while still giving them time to play. Emily is in love with her raquet and drags it all over the court during Hyrum's lessons. She loves to pick up balls.

Kylie Visit

After our big Utah trip we brought home my niece, Kylie. She is 16 and so much fun. We took her to some of our favorite places here in Spokane. She made it easy to get a lot done around the house. Emily was even saying her name before she left. We hope that she will come again!

Family Reunion in Provo, Utah
For the 4th of July we went to Utah for a Healey family reunion. On the way we stopped and toured an old silver mine in Wallace, ID. The hard hats were very cute on the kids.
We also stopped at "Craters of the Moon". Its lots of old lava fields and tunnels. Pretty neat stuff.
Once in Provo we played at 7-Peaks, various parks, the 4th of July parade, BYU for bowling, and to the cemetery in Alpine where all the family is buried. One special highlight was a family sacrament meeting put together by grandpa Bickmore.
I almost forgot, what trip wouldn't be complete without visiting the Alpine slides in Park City. Emily especially enjoyed going down and we loved the new roller coaster. We recommend it to all!

Tennis Camp

This past week has been our June U-high tennis camp. Christopher joined the middle school group this year. Hy Hy started with the little ones. He loves playing and asks if we get to play tommorrow each day. Maygan still enjoys tennis too. The weather held all week and the otter-pops are a daily hit. Our next high school camp is in July.
