The 12 days of Christmas

Our family is currently doing the 12 days of Christmas to 4 families in our ward. Today is the 6th day of Christmas. Each night we take a gift and sing the song. We are having a lot of fun. Four families turned out to be the perfect number of houses so that each child has one house to give the present. So far the 6 days include:
1. a box of candy canes
2. two turtle doves (a turtle and a dove bar taped together)
3. free french toast (sticks)
4. four reindeer turds (or chocolate covered raisins)
5. five glowing rings (bracelets)
6. six peeps not laying.

We look forward to 6 more fun filled days of Christmas!

Emily's Eye Surgery

So this morning Emily had a balloon inserted into her tear duct and inflated to open up the clog. I was quite nervous to have her have to go under anesthesia because she is so little. The procedure was not a long one so that was nice, I don't think I could have waited a really long time and kept it together. The doctor told us right before that he felt like this was the right surgery to do for her. He had been debating between two different options. Bryan gave her a blessing and I feel like Heavenly Father helped to inspire our doctor on what was best for her.

She was really fussy right after she came out and it took some time for her to come around and act like herself again. She threw up and that really helped her a lot. She got to have a Popsicle and that made her very happy. You could not tell that anything had been done to her. I can see a difference in her eye. It is no longer red and irritated. She is such a beautiful sweet girl. I am grateful that she is doing well. I am thankful for all of the family prayers on her behalf.

Hyrum is Cute!!!

Sunday Hyrum told me not to drink alcohol. I asked him why not because I was wondering what he understood. He told me that I could get adopted, that's where you have to have more and more and more. So everyone should now be properly educated on why not to drink!

Christopher go his new braces on Tuesday after school, so it has been a week since he got them on. It is so much easier to feed him now that he is not so sore. I wish that he enjoyed soup. He told me the other day that there were no snacks that he could enjoy. I think that the problem is that his favorite snacks are now off limits. Somehow I think that he will survive and find some new snacks. Notice the gold and crimson on the top (our high school colors), with silver and green on the bottom (green is one of his favorites). He's growing up quickly, too bad that he's also getting more expensive!

Emily Can See!!

So we had no idea until an appointment a few weeks ago that our little Emily was walking around with limited vision. We were really worried about how she would feel about her new specs. She loves them, ok, so maybe love is too strong of a word but she leaves them on 99% of the time. She calls her cute pink case her "wallet". The first night we took off her glasses to go to bed she cried. Ever since then she says goodnight to her glasses as we put them away. It is still strange to see her in them but I know that it won't be long until it is weird to see her without them.

Emily Birthday Pictures

So I decided to finally have Emily's birthday pictures taken. I can't wait until she is in school and then I don't have to pay a ton. I had to bring Maygan and Hyrum with me to Kiddie Kandids because the school had it's 3rd snow day this week.

Emily loved the experience. She let me curl her hair and put clips in it at the studio. She enjoyed being tickled by the photographer and having everyone else be tickled too.

Her highlights at age two include: talking way too much, watching Curious George, breaking her leg, eating a lot of waffles with butter, organizing, swimming in hot tubs, talking on the phone.

Christopher's First Tournament

Christopher has been asking me for a while to play in a tennis tournament. He is still a beginner so I was nervous to let him try. This last weekend we let him play in a local tournament. It went a lot better than I expected. It was really fun to watch him play. He had a great attitude and had fun (which was exactly what I wanted). The only problem was that Emily got the flu and was not very pleased that I would leave her home with dad to take and watch Christopher. It was a great mom moment to watch my son play after years of watching and coaching other peoples kids.
